The Memory ( Happily Married Series )

25-Jan-2019 (Fri) 3.30 PM

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon and today is my son’s Annual day Function.Me, my wife and my son have reached the Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Auditorium, Indiranagar Bangalore ontime.

As instructed by their teachers, we have gone to the back side of stage and handover my son to their class teacher. Yes, he is going to give a dance performance today.
He was wearing an orange Kurtha and white pant.

Both me and wife have found a comfortable seat in the last row of the Auditorium under a fan. By the time, we have reached the auditorium it was almost full. Program started with a welcome speech by the principal Nisha. She welcomed everyone for taking time [ I thought of telling her,  excuse me madam it is leave and not time ] for attending this Annual day function on a weekday.

Soon, the kids started giving their performances. It was a pleasant treat for the eyes to watch the little buds dancing in their bright colourful dresses.

Our son’s dance performance was the first one. There were a group of 12 kids who are on stage dancing for the Mourberry rhyme.

My wife was cheering for his every move. She was overjoyed by his performance. Actually, he was just moving his hands and legs and trying to imtiate the girl next to him.
However, my wife was jumping in joy as if he was dancing like Prabhu Deva. Yes for Moms, their childs dance is the best dance in the world.

I need to catch her hands and control her most of the time as she was jumping out of Joy. Within 4 minutes the dance performance was over and she was clapping as if she have seen a heavenly dance.

I have opened my Kindle in my mobile and started reading the book 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus'.

Host for the day announced 'Next we will have a dance performance by our Staff members and the Parent's' together. I am still reading the book and the author is giving some hints about my wife, which I don't know even after five years of my marriage life. My wife asked me to stop reading and watch the dance. I always like to obey her requests, sorry orders. Eventhough I am the Boss at office, she is the Boss at home.

I stopped reading the book and started watching the dance without any interest. Suddenly, within couple of seconds , I got interested in dance as Maya, my son's dance teacher is dancing in the front row. Maya is young and beautiful with a fair complexion. Me and my wife have met in his school last Independence day. I have seen Maya performing dance during the last Independence day celebrations at my son's school. There were around 10 ladies who are dancing for the Song “Jimmikki Kammal”  Malayalam Song with the traditional Kerala dress.

She is 24 years single from Kochi, Kerala and wears a cute smile on her face always. She is Young, fair and beautiful.
I got all this details about her after the Independence day in Facebook.

My wife asked me 'Do you remember the girl who is dancing in the front ?'
'Yes, She is Maya. She is the dance teacher in our son's school. She also have  given dance performance on last Independence day in our son's school' I replied

'We also went and appreciated her dance after the program' I reminded her.
'It is not we, it is only you. I am just standing next you' she corrected me.

'She is from Kochi, Kerala and her age is 24 years and still single' I told her raising my shirt collar.
'Oh really. Do you know her date of Birth ?' She asked.

'She was born on '15-Jul-1994, the same day I as mine’’ I replied.

'How do you all this details?' She asked me surprisingly.
'I got all this details from facebook'

Cupid inside me screamed ‘Bro, you have done a big mistake by telling her birthday date’
My wife's pink face turned red suddenly. It have taken me some seconds to know that I have fallen in her trap without my knowledge.

Inorder to know why my wife is angry, we need to time travel before 1 hour.

25-Jan-2019 (Fri) 2.30 PM

Me, my wife along with my son was on the way to the Annual day function in our car.
We are passing through Gopal Mall in Old Madra Road. On seeing this mail, my three year old son Krishna got excited and started shouting as 'Mall..Mall..Mall. Here only I have driven the Red Car'
On hearing this my wife hugged and kissed my son on his cute little.cheeks and told me 'She how brilliant he is, he still remembers this mall which we have come before three months. He also remembers the toy car which he have driven here'.

She added that ‘He also remembers the color of the car, even I have forgotten it’
I told 'There is no much surprise that he remembers this thing. I don't know, why you are you feeling so excited about it'.

Saint inside me started giving the Gyan,'If you ask a student, who doesn't have interest in history he might not be able to tell the exact date of world war. However, if he is interested in Cricket, if you ask him any question from cricket. He will tell the numbers with precision'

I finished my lecture by telling that ‘Memory is all about interest. If you like a thing / person then you will remember it life long’
'OK. Let me check your memory. When is our engagement date ?' She asked

I have memorised our marriage date and her birthday. To be honest, I don't remember the engagement date.

I just smiled at her and told 'Pass'
'Whether I am conducting Quiz. You are telling it as Pass. So you don't remember the date. please accept it'

I nodded my head firmly.

I hope now you might have sensed the reason for her anger. Yes, remembering Mays’s birthday and forgetting our engagement date is a sin as per her. Function ended with a formal ‘Vote of Thanks’. We went to collect our kids in the backstage. It is Maya, who was handing over the kids to the parents after checking the Parent’s ID cards.

On seeing both of us Maya asked 'How was my dance sir?'
I just smiled and replied 'It is beautiful'

We collected our kid and started walking towards our car. My wife is still fuming with anger on her face.
'You have replied wrongly, you should have replied as She is beautiful, instead of It is beautiful'

‘Yes, you are right, but how can I tell her, when you are near’ I thought of telling her. But controlled it, as I don’t to put oil on the fire.
However, I just smiled at her and started walking towards our car.

In the car, i have purposefully played the song 'Inkem Inkem Kavale' from the movie Geetha Govindam.

I told my son 'Your mother is looking like Reshmika, whenever she is angry'

My wife silently checked her face on the side mirror adjusted her hair slightly and smiled softly. I was turning my face other side acting, I have not seen anything.

Cupid inside me told smilingly, 'Bro, you will survive in your marriage life. All the best'
